Dole Shares Climb Over 6% as Revenue Beat Overshadows Earnings Miss
Dole plc (NYSE: DOLE) announced its third-quarter financial results on November 10, 2025, revealing mixed results that sent its shares up by more than 6% in intra-day trading. While the company's adjusted earnings per share missed targets, its revenue exceeded expectations and showed significant year-over-year growth.
The global produce company posted adjusted earnings per share of $0.16, falling short of the analyst consensus of $0.18. However, revenue for the quarter reached $2.28 billion, a 10.5% increase from the previous year and well above the forecasted $2.19 billion. On a like-for-like basis, revenue increased by 8.2%.
The company's net income declined by 35.7% to $13.8 million. This was primarily due to a $10.2 million loss from discontinued operations related to the sale of its Fresh Vegetables division. Performance was varied across its business segments, with strength in Diversified Fresh Produce units being offset by a weaker Fresh Fruit segment. Adjusted EBITDA for Fresh Fruit fell 36.7% to $27.2 million, impacted by higher costs for bananas, pineapples, and plantains.
Despite the earnings shortfall, Dole reaffirmed its full-year outlook. The company stated its confidence that full-year adjusted EBITDA would reach the upper end of its targeted range of $380 million to $390 million.
